Reverse : TA (Tanga Asia) monogram divides

below worn out, all within circle of dots between two plain line circles.
Codrington (VIII-21:II,p.100) lists it among silver coins struck in or for Ceylon as the second series of the Malacca type struck in 1642, 1643 1644 and 1649, comparing with the Tanga Asia with D M (De Malacca).
In Grogan section on Ceylon the double Tanga is illustrated: (1323) of 1643 -- 20/21 mm ; 4.46 grams.
The uncleaned VF condition coin was scanned at 600dpi and displayed at 300dpi. It was obtained in 2010 September from a Lankan Dealer as part of a small hoard of silver (1600-1669) coins which also included 9 Double Stuiver coins from Zeeland 7 Double Stuiver coins from Overijssel, a Double Stuiver coin from Holland with french countermark, and a Roosschelling coin of Holland. The hoard is claimed to have been with a Lankan family for many generations.
