Ancient Lanka - Tree and Svastika
4 Comp. - 3 branch Fork - Anticlockwise
A circular copper-lead coin with a tree with three branches each ending
with triple Fork within enclosure of four compartments on obverse
and a railed svastika revolving to left (anticlockwise) on the reverse.

Obverse : A three branched tree within enclosure of four compartments in
two rows of two each.
The end of branch which is visible split into triple fork.
Battle axes at an outward angle attached to either corner of top of enclosure.
To left pennent slanted to right. to right nandipada?.
Reverse : A Railed svastika revolving to left (anti-clockwise).
Symbol to left two triangles pointing verticle to each other with
short horizontal line between. Symbol to right if any off flan.
Nine Tree and svastika lead coins (H.9 to H.17)
with sizes 10 to 29 mm and weights from 0.4 to 7 grams that were
found in Akurugoda are cataloged under Local Coins
in 1999 by Osmund Bopearachchi and Rajah Wickramasinhe in the book
Ruhuna. An Ancient Civilization Re-visited .
This coin is Plate Specimen H.14.
This is one variety of many coins of this type.
The coin was scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at 300 dpi.
