IMHO this is probably a contemporary forgery, since if it was a modern fake it would probably have been of silver of correct purity. It is 7.6% lighter and based on this weight it is probably 37% silver rather than 89% as the legal coin. It illustrates many of the features of cast copy. The features are dull and the surface shows small bubbles left from casting bubbles. The cast forgery is about 1% smaller due shrinkage.Please left click and view image at full 600dpi resolution.
