In Scholten the legal weight of the Stuiver of Ceilon is quoted at the price of copper (ca.). For the 1783 Colombo Stuiver 13.35 gms is given in Scholten and other denominations in proportions. This would make this 1/4 Stuiver correct weight.

See also another 1/4 Stiver dump coin which is 21% under weight and therefore maybe contemporary counterfeit.

The coin was scanned at 600 dpi and the images are displayed at 500 dpi. It was purchased in 2016 June within a small coin collection which appears to have been put in a Nidane in the mid 19th century.
