The two upper copper coins show major differences in the format of the coins. The trident at the end of the left arm of the N is like in the coin illustrated in Krause for US$100 in Fine grade. The CO interchanged from usual on the top coin uses a round font but smaller and more elliptical co in the lower typical grade middle specimen. The reverse text on the top coin is in a oblate dotted ellipse and the middle coin in a prolate dotted ellipse.
The color of the lower coin seems to indicate it may have lead content, although it does show some copper-like toning in a region near the edge. It has small elongated oc but the hammer head on the end of the V was unique in the lot of over hundred coins looked at in the hoard.

The coin was scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at 450 dpi. It was obtained in 2002 March from a dealer in US who kindly allowed me to select varieties from part of a hoard of coins from South India.
