Obverse : Crowned arms of Confederation: Rampant lion standing left
with upward back pointing sword in front right paw and bundle of 7
arrows in left paw, divides two stuiver value 2 S all within
dash circle.
Reverse : Ear of Corn mint mark with Rosette on
either side. Below in two lines GEL/RIA.
Year 1786 below, all within dash
circle.
Codrington X§26. Double stuiver (iv) Arms of Confederation lists coins
from Gelderland and Overijssel.
The Double stuiver coins with Arms of Gelderland: two crowned standing lions
facing rsch with vertical sword between them (KM26.2) was minted from
1704-1734 but is not listed in Codrington as found in Lanka.
Krause SCWC calls this shield also the arms of Gelderland by error.
This 2 Stuiver is 3% over-weight which is within tolarnce of manufacture.
Coins were scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at 300 dpi.
The 1786 coin was purchased in USA between 1998 and 2004.
