Ruhuna - Stone Slab - carved
A smooth stone slab of with a Buddhist perahara scene engraved on it
claimed to have been found during a dig in Akurugoda area of
Tissamaharama.

Obverse : Elephant with tusks, carrying relic casket walking left behind
person with flag. Drummer behind. Representation of the Sun face to
upper right
Reverse : Flag and other indistict scribling.
Clearly interesting IF it is really ancient art and other items
of similar type have been found in a professional archaeological
dig to establish a rough age. Picked it up out of pure curiosity.
The stone slab was scanned at 300 dpi and displayed at 200 dpi.
It was obtained in 2001 December
from Mr A. Ratnayaka a collector in Katharagama, Lanka.
