Codrington #15 Type 3(iii) |
The Dot in each compartment is described by Codrington for Type 3(iii) which is Pl.15 which is 1.06 grams. This is one variety of many coins of this type.
In the 1999 catalog by Osmund Bopearachchi and Rajah Wickramasinhe titled Ruhuna. An Ancient Civilization Re-visited , these are listed as Local Coins - Tree and Swastika (H.9 - H.18). It is about the size and weight of the smallest known of this Series H.13 It was obtained directly from the same collector who provided most of the items for that book.
The coin was scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at 600 dpi. It was obtained in 2003 March from Mr A. Ratnayaka a collector in Katharagama, Lanka.
