ශ්රී ලංකා (Sri Lanka) in Sinhala, centered on top. All within circle of dots along periphery with raised rim.

In 2005 Rs1000/- worth was packed in large polythene bags with a Light Blue paper label encased on top with SRI LANKA - 25 Cents - 4000 Pieces in three lines. A small white paper sticker gave total weight, Date and time of production with operator and consec number.
The same diameter but 30% thinner than the current aluminum
0.70 gram 1 cent coin which was last minted in 1994 and had not circulated for a long time
by 2005.
