In 2005, Rs2000/- worth was packed in large polythene bags with a Light Green paper label encased on top with SRI LANKA - 2 RUPEE - 1000 Pieces - ### in 4 lines. A small white paper sticker gave total weight, Date and time of production with operator and consec number ###. In 2009 Printed in Black on the polythene pack was SRI LANKA - 2 RUPEE - 1000 Pieces in 3 lines.
It is same diameter but 15% thinner and 15% lighter in weight then
the current 2 rupee coin.

The incidence of error coins seem to be high in this new series.
The coin was scanned at 600 dpi and the images are displayed reverse video at 300 dpi.
